Preventing E-mail Filtering Issues

myContactForm.com sends thousands of e-mails each day and strives to ensure that each and every one of them make it to their intended recipient. Unfortunately, e-mail filters have been designed to be, at times, overzealous in their filtering of your e-mail. The number one complaint we receive from users has to do with not receiving messages from either their forms or automated account confirmation e-mails. Typically, this is caused by incorrect e-mail filtering either by your e-mail provider (Gmail, Yahoo!, AOL, Hotmail, etc.), your e-mail client software (Outlook, Thunderbird, etc.), or your security suite (McAfee Internet Security, Norton 360, etc.).

In many situations, your messages will not be completely deleted but instead redirected to a 'spam' or 'junk' mail folder. Please check these folders (if you have them) to see if messages from myContactForm.com or from your forms are being filtered. These folders are called different things by different providers, but most e-mail providers (Hotmail, Yahoo!, Gmail, etc.) have some sort of folder that they direct messages they believe to be spam to. If you find a message from your forms or from myContactForm.com marked as 'junk' or 'spam', make sure to untag it.

It is not possible for myContactForm.com to provide specific instructions for preventing false-positive e-mail filtering for each provider in existence. In general, however, following the tips below will ensure you receive your messages:

Helpful Tips
  1. Add info@mycontactform.com, forms@mycontactform.com, and anonymous@mycontactform.com to your contact lists and address books.
  2. Never label or tag any form submissions as 'spam' or 'junk'. This will often cause spam filters to start tagging all form submissions as spam, regardless of actual content. If you find a message from your forms or from myContactForm.com marked as 'junk' or 'spam', make sure to untag it.
  3. Contact your email provider and have them 'whitelist' the entire mycontactform.com domain.
  4. 'Whitelist' the entire mycontactform.com domain in your e-mail filtering software (if you have such software installed).
