On the Autoresponder page, I list my work email as the email to send autoresponse to.

It defaults to email address of: annonymous@mycontactform.com

Please advise.

All emails send from our server are technically sent from this address. The from address is then changed in the header to the address you configure it for. In the vast majority of email clients, it should show the from address as what you have configured for it under Edit > Auto Responder.
