Hi
first thanks for a great site
two issues
1. when exporting the random 'student code ' to an excel sheet it only exports the first 4 characters . This is a recent issue it used to be OK
2. In my current form tcd15A the columns do not line up correctly when exported to an excel sheet
I have a column marked 'I will be attending day1 ' the export includes other data '
I did amend the form after data had been entered
Thank you

This is an issue that occurs when forms have been altered after data is collected. Your best bet when altering a form that requires exports is to copy the form in the admin panel, modify it, and then start collecting data on the new form. This keeps the changes and data separate in the Message Center and prevents these types of errors.

I was reading this question about exporting data after altering the questions, specifically adding questions in and changing the order of the questions, after data has been collected. I am having the same issue, where the columns of data will skew to the right based on a new question added. I'm not sure I understand your answer about copying the form into the admin panel. Would I be creating a new form all together and from that point forward would have 2 databases of information? Thanks! |

Essentially, yes. You would copy the form in the admin panel and then begin using that form and its code. You would then retire the old form.
