I have been over this for the past few months, and I'm still no wiser as to why this is happening.

I've been through the FAQ's, I looked at the form code, I had a good idea my ISP had no spam filters and to double check, I emailed them and this is their repsonse :-

"I think that mycontactform.com are misinforming you, as there are no
spam filters on any FreeUK e-mail addresses. We also do not block any
incoming e-mail. The only reason I can think that you would not receive
e-mail is if your mailbox is over 10MB. Otherwise, without being able to
see a bounceback report from the failed attempts to e-mail you the
contents of this form, sadly we cannot say why this mail is not getting
to your inbox."

So although form messages are getting through to your servers, they are not getting through to my inbox.

I think I know what your going to tell me.

I am pretty certain that your ISP is giving you the run-around on this one. Often times the tech support at these places isn't too informed as to what exact filtering is occuring on their own e-mail servers. Either way, I will go ahead and send a test message through this evening (I won't be able to get to this for about another 10 hours) and copy verbatum our outgoing mail server logs to prove that the messages are being received by your email provider's server.

Sincerely,

Nick Ladd

I sent a message through your form and then looked at our server's outgoing mail log to see if I can solve the problem. Here is the log:

Code:
Jun 20 22:05:23 mycontactform qmail: 1150859123.751356 starting delivery 337986: msg 1556880 to remote info@imd.freeuk.com
Jun 20 22:05:28 mycontactform qmail: 1150859128.443300 delivery 337986: deferral: 212.126.144.70_does_not_like_recipient./Remote_host_said:_451_Temporary_local_problem_-_please_try_later/Giving_up_on_212.126.144.70./

As you can see the Remote Host (your e-mail provider's incoming mail server) is rejecting the message. Why they are doing this is something that they will have to answer.

Sincerely,

Nick Ladd

I have now had a response from the ISP :-

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The problem is actually twofold. That error message sent was due to a
temporary glitch on the mailserver when it was unable to access one of
our database servers, and is seperate from the main issue.

"As is standard practice with mailservers, our mailservers do a check
when an e-mail comes in that is called "sender verification". When this
happens the receiving mailserver (freeuk in this case) contacts the
sending one (mycontactform) and queries the existance of the sending
e-mail address. This is done to stop spam from non-existant addresses.

E-mails that mycontactform.com are sending to our customer come from the
address anonymous@mycontactform.com, which doesn't exist as an actual
account on their mailserver. When the freeuk mailservers do a sender
verification check it fails and they reject the e-mail. The only way to
resolve this situation is for mycontactform to create the anonymous
mailbox on their mailserver."

Wonderful! I created the mailbox last night, and am glad to see that it did the trick.
