Above the question fields, I want some text to describe the free item I'm offering. I want this to be just text sitting on the form's overall background color -- not another answer field. What am I missing? Thanks...

You can add this in an external HTML editor.

I don't even know what an html editor is -- sorry. When the intro. to your site included "order forms" in its capabilities, I thought there'd be an option for that in the normal form creation process. No other way around this other than the html editor?

An HTML is simply an authoring piece of software such as Dreameaver, iWeb, Frontpage, etc. Most are as easy to use as a word processor. This type of customization would need to be done using one of these tools.
